XVIII. Racism

​

__Racism is a tool, but racism is still stupid. Racism makes people stupid. It comes down to a simple understanding, like when one would say, ‘slavery is horrible,’ and then someone else would disagree. All you have to do is ask the person who disagrees whether they would like to be a slave. If they say no, then they know it’s bad and any more talk about justifying slavery is a waste of everyone’s time. Racism is stupid and here’s a quick example to better understand why it’s stupid. Say for instance, you let someone move into your home until they get on their feet. You want them to move out, but you take their money when they get some. You don’t help them get to work or even get a means to work, but you want them to go to work so they can move out. You know things that could help them and educate them so they can perform their work better and maybe make more money, but you don’t tell them and still take their money. Yet, you still expect them to move out of your home. Pulling away all the resources that can help someone progress successfully in life stops their mobility but also stops you from getting the benefits of that mobility. The typical racist hates someone and wants to be rid of them, but with their actions and inaction, stand in the way of all the tools or aid they need to go or leave. Racism is discriminatory behavior and discrimination robs us of the things we need sure, robs us of fairness and freedoms, but it’s robbing the racist of what they want or what they seem to want also. Thus, racism is very stupid.

Racism can be a tool but it is still stupid. And this came to me because of a question I posed to myself (I do that) when I saw people supporting nationalist spewing leaders. I asked myself why were we, black people, not killed off in a genocidal way years ago when we were freed from slavery in America? Why didn’t a racist rise and cause that to happen? And of course, here's what I think. One reason was because a lot of racist white people during that time believed their own bullshit. They convinced themselves we were actually inferior, creatures, we couldn’t think for ourselves or adequately learn, and we were to be ruled over like animals. They also thought they could rule over people easily. Thus again, racism is very stupid and makes people stupid. The other reason is because of money. We were not the wealthy and rich, and let me explain why that matters because this is where racism was used as a tool. Not everyone can use racism as a tool. Hitler is the only asshole that has used racism as a tool to which he was able to exalt himself and destroy so many lives. Hitler hated every race on earth except for German, and he used the Jewish people because they were there and they happened to be the rich and wealthy majority in Germany at the time. And this was the most important thing about that strategy because; if it weren’t for the economic status of the Jewish people his plan to be more superior than everyone else would have been more difficult or may not have worked at all. He knew he would not be able to get collective racism against the Jewish people from every German but he could get collective hate, and/or the dislike of them, from the masses so they would unite with him or under him. Also, taking control of the media to scapegoat and lie, labeling them evil, greedy, saying they looked down on the poor Germans, saying they committed crimes, were inhuman, and blaming the atrocity that happened to Christ on them when it was really the fault of everyone that was there that day because the people could have intervened. All this allowed him to create a party in the German government, be voted for and placed in a position of power that led to the fake emergency declaration he declared so he could enact his evil that started in Germany which of course made its way across Europe and effected almost every nation on earth. 

Now I bet you’re saying, toni why the fuck are you writing all this shit? We know racism is bullshit. Well because even though racism can be a tool, no one can be Hitler or anything like him in America, and racist Americans need to understand this and why this is the case because they are fucking up our government by allowing crazies and greed-consumed people to get into the nation’s capitol to do nothing but get paid. The truth is there are no more Hitlers and there will not ever be another Hitler. If someone is a racist aspiring to be Hitler or like Hitler, the day will not ever come when the United States resembles Nazi Germany or anything like it. Racism is too much of a two-edged sword that, even with opportunity, it can still be ineffective. Let me explain. 

Had my slave ancestors been allowed the same rights and treatment across the nation as white people when they were freed, maybe we could have become the majority rich and wealthy, and if we had, that rogue white power-hungry racist person could’ve started a race based mass murder movement in America using the same strategy and nationalist rhetoric as Hitler and they could’ve been successful. Remember Black Wall Street; that was mass murder, but only in that area where there was prosperity, which is considered power to a lot of people. This could’ve been nationwide had my slave ancestors been afforded the same opportunity NATIONWIDE, but that didn’t happen, and it won’t ever happen because the time has passed. The opportunity was missed. Also, white men for all their racist banter back then could not keep their damn hands off black women. I am trying to communicate that the day won’t ever come when only one race is supreme in the United States. The opportune moment for white racists was when we were liberated from slavery but racism’s blinding effect caused them to terrorize, prevent resources making life hard, and cause future generations of poverty. Also, ‘American,’  is a race in this world now and we have interracial families that span back to the days of slavery and continue. People are running for office with that stupid nationalist hateful dictator ideal only to just be elected by the people who are stupid enough to believe they will actually help them and they’re just like them. These candidates that play with this fire to be elected have no intention of doing anything but taking corporations money and getting a steady paycheck. That person these desperate, racist, and lied to individuals put in office will vote for laws based off who pays them the most and they will keep playing the role they played to be elected knowing those aren’t their real beliefs. This also includes the people that states are keeping in office which are these Jim Crow era politicians that are in there still getting paid to vote the same way they voted years ago.

And please stop saying, well I just won’t vote. I am sorry to say it but you MUST vote. You must because this institution in the United States unchecked can kill you. The people working on the capitol making stupid, ignorant, sexist, racist, or selfish decisions affect everyone. No one can afford to have anyone in there that doesn’t care about people and how laws affect people. Yes, as a citizen in America and an American, you must vote. And we need to vote for the persons in every election, in every state, local to statewide, that are trying to make living life easier in America and who are trying to help us. 

And one last thing, racism is a way of life that no one can live up to. I can look back at my genealogy and see that racism was not the way of life. It was a tool to be used by the rich and wealthy when they wanted some young white men or boys to throw their lives away doing something to a perceived threat or rival, just to name one thing it was used for. Once the deed is done or the election is won, it’s back living life without rules. Family members marrying whomever they want and life is great for them. I’m simply saying the majority of us cannot live up to racism because racism is a way of life and people cannot, will not, restrict themselves because people are too damn greedy. On this small scale racism has been used as a tool as well but it is still a two-edged sword rendering it noneffective.

Because of the decisions in the past here when my ancestors were freed, and that includes other races and cultures too, that hateful inequality and cruelty they showed over and over to be oppressive and discriminatory for so long made it so that today and forever, the day any racists are looking for won’t ever come here in America. Yes, you must vote because your own lives depend on it. And remember, racism is stupid because that person they are discriminating against may lose, but they will lose too.
