XXVI. Credit

I took out a three thousand dollar personal loan in 2022 late that year around October. As I signed the documents to be issued the loan I told the ladies, come next year I will probably go ahead and pay this off. Next year came; in February 2023 I began paying it off and in March 2023 I finished paying it off. The only thing that happened to my credit score was it went down. Credit is a means to discriminate definitely, but it is also the stupidest thing to ever have to deal with or use. How does the score go down when there is less debt?

In 2020 not only was there a lockdown, but I had started a new career. Money was slow because work was slow as the nation tried to grapple with the COVID beast. Every single company I had credit cards with were contacted. I asked them to stop the card or shut them down. I was not going to use them anymore and would like to pay them off. All of these company’s representatives REFUSED. At first I thought the whole company was denying me, turns out it was certain employees because when I called a 5th and 6th time two agents from two different companies gladly stopped the cards allowing the repay while all the others refused and pushed three hundred dollar credit card limits to six hundred dollars and up. I had five credit accounts. I only had two cards that worked with me, Paypal and Amazon Synchrony bank cards. Capital One ghosted me with those accounts, not allowing a pay-off and refusing to take a pay-off. Lame-ass three hundred pennies cards pushed up the credit limit refusing to stop the card and allow for a pay-off. Today, the only things on my credit is my student loan, a fresh vehicle loan, a PayPal Synchrony bank credit card I'm paying off, and two personal loans. A credit report agency, can’t remember which one, had a collection account on my account twice. While I was paying off the Amazon Synchrony bank credit card they were still issuing reports to the credit companies that they weren’t getting paid. At the near-end of that card, with a two hundred dollar balance left, I had to pay them completely off because they were putting money BACK ON THE BALANCE.

There are no valid collections are on the account from primary companies that I owe today and the score is still low.

All the real accounts are in good standing, and all the old accounts that are closed, or that were consolidated, should be removed.

And don’t apply for a personal loan with poor or fair credit, they require you to have mortgage loan debt. You don’t want to give credit due to no large defaults or outstanding balances on the account, yet you would if a massive mortgage loan was on the account. This is the stupidest thing I have ever experienced in my life besides racism. And I look at these companies that are high and mightily shunning people and wonder, how the hell are they going to survive. Rich and wealthy people don’t use credit they BUY what they want. The middle or working class people are the only ones that use credit. Companies are looking at their computer’s algorithms and aren’t basing things on their own judgment, or SMARTLY, on bank statements and background checks. Today they’re letting a computer measure competence, they’re letting computers measure whether one can do a job, they’re letting computers measure whether you decide to pay your bills; which is the stupidest thing ever.

Now I know you’re saying toni, your oddness is at an all-time high. Why are you writing all this shit? First, credit is not the means to everything, having money is. That’s right; having money is. I’m not rich. My credit was poor and fair, and I still landed two personal loans because I had a lot of money to put down for what I wanted and proof of a good income. I got the travel trailer that I wanted with one loan and a small parcel of land in town. Consider my advise do not to get a lot of credit cards or any at all if you plan on using your credit to get things. It’s not so much having and using them, but the people and companies supporting this service. As you can recall, I was trying to get those stopped to pay them off and they kept packing interest on them to make them higher than they were. In the end it was all based on who I ended up talking to on the line that stopped the cards and let me pay them off, or maybe they legally reached the limit they could push them to. This is a mess no one needs.

Also, expect computers and their algorithms to be making life changing or important decisions regarding jobs, careers, and loans. I know this isn’t for everyone. Algorithms are used on the people that the person at the company wants to discriminate against. Algorithms should not be a major decision-maker, but as they are, remember in resumes to have certain words there so your resume can be selected such as; design, build, operate, coordinate, critical thinking, and so forth. You DO NOT need credit to get things. In this day and age, money still speaks louder than some score. Credit scores have been given way too much power and that’s because it has always been a discriminatory tool. And as long as student loans are allowed to be on credit, they will always be used as a tool to discriminate more. If any administration that is for the people want to free the people from student loans, take them off the credit report. This way no one can use them to discriminate. I would hope in the future that companies lose the algorithm but maybe they should keep it because it’s going to put their company in the toilet.
