XXIX.The Bottomless Pit

I was laying around on one of the days on the weekend and I had a realization that centered around a particular verse in Revelation that was mentioned on a video that was posted somewhere. The verses go; And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth (someone who was great now not great), and to him was given the key to the bottomless pit (someone who was given power). To me, these verses describe prison and a person that obtains the power to open and close prison doors. That could be a judge or some judicial body, president, governor. ‘And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit(?), And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power, (this may be a depiction of greedy criminals), And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power,’ and from here it goes into how they must torment men not kill them, which may mean, people who bring trouble or get revenge specifically on the individuals that the person who let them out wants them to, resurrecting extremist terrorist behavior, which is why they were let out in the first place.

Based on the 13th Amendment, which allows slavery in prison except for states that ratified the 13th amendment to remove slavery, hell and prison, and the bottomless pit and prison sound very similar. Slavery of course is Hell on earth, but prison is hell on earth too.

I was always fascinated with the story of Bonnie & Clyde because of Clyde. He like other people went through Hell in lockup, which in his day and age was on a farm. I think most of us would rather work a 9 to 5 somewhere in air conditioning than work in the sweltering blistering heat on a damn farm no matter the pay. Clyde’s mind was completely made up, if it came down to him getting caught or backed in a corner and he faced jail or prison, he would rather die before allowing himself to go back. There’s also the countless people who died in prison because they were left to die. Being in the hands of some people isn’t a good thing, and lock-up leads to that. And of course, prison houses some of the most deranged and inhumane minds along with people that are innocent or have committed petty crimes. There are more murderers and the criminally insane in prison now in the 2000s than ever because most mental health facilities were taken away. There are rich people that created a lockup for rich people that will cater to them for pay; I’m not talking about these places because those are not real prisons. I’m talking about the prison that’s never quiet, that’s filled with murders, rapes, torture, lack of food and other needed things, cruel and inhumane people overseeing you. Kalief Browder remains forever lodged in my mind and his tragic demise upon the notion of going back to lockup. Rikers Island is known for its terrible conditions. Anyone can see the prisons and the jails are the new insane asylums. They are also understaffed. Prison, Hell, or the Bottomless Pit, is that condition that only ends with death.

Now you’re probably saying to yourself, toni, again your super power is weirdness. Why did you write this shit? Because, no one wants to stop the storm, no one wants to be bothered with incidents that make prisons the Bottomless Pit and Hell. Hell is what happened to that man Mr. LaShawn Thompson. How the fuck do you neglect someone so long they are eaten by bed bugs? This horrible thing that happened to this man, and possibly many people before him no doubt, may never see front page news. Now that things are so hard, and there’s so much stress and pressure trying to survive and live, when people commit crimes now society just wants them gone or put away somewhere. People don’t care that prison is Hell and the Bottomless Pit. People don’t care that there was a man having an issue with his body while people stood around him watching him die.

Revelation says the devil will be chained in The Bottomless Pit; And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand, And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season (Revelation 20: 2 - 3 KJV). I’m thinking a political figure gets sentenced to life with the possibility of parole. Deceive the nations no more, yeah that reads like a leader of a nation being sentenced to prison for life. The Bottomless Pit is Prison and Prison is Hell. I just wanted to communicate this, and please try to stay away from prison and jail everyone. Please take care of yourselves and help each other where you can.
